Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional practice dating back 5000 years that originated in Mysore, India and is passed down from an unbroken line of teachers within the same lineage. This practice uses a set series of postures that are linked together with breath and movement. These postures are practiced in such a way where each posture prepares the body and mind for the next one. They vary in difficulty, however, everyone experiences the practice differently. A posture that may seem difficult for one person might be simple for another, and vice versa. The most important aspects in this practice is to find a level of effort and comfort within each posture, utilizing a deep and steady flow of breath, and always treating your body and mind with love and compassion. Although Ashtanga is a rigorous practice, this class is modified for all levels. Just bring you, your breath, and you'll learn to flow at your own pace!
